Just to let everyone know, this will be my last blog of the year. Our season is winding down right now, and we only have three regular-season games left.
The last time I talked to everyone, I am pretty sure we were in second place all by ourselves. A lot has changed since then. Two weeks ago, we played Oostende, and it was a huge game for us, because they were only a game behind us in the standings. We played very well the whole game, but this feeling just kept coming over me that things were slipping away. It seemed like everything was going against us. It was a tough game, and we ended up losing by two points. This moved us into a tie for second then with two other teams. Charleroi has clinched the No. 1 spot in the playoffs.
With three games remaining, it is a necessity that we win every game to make the playoffs. Only four teams make the playoffs, and right now, there is one team that is a game behind the three teams that are tied for second. It sounds pretty confusing, but if we take care of business, we will be fine.
It is going to be a lot of fun getting to finally go home and spend time with my family again. I have not seen them since Christmas, and that has probably been the hardest part about being overseas my first year out. For the summer, my agent told me I would be playing Summer League with the Houston Rockets out in Las Vegas. I was very excited when he told me this, but then I got to thinking I should not get my hopes up until it actually happens. It is going to be a very exciting summer for me again this year, because I get to go through the same stuff I did last year. It is going to be hard not knowing where or when I will have to leave again, but I guess that is the life I chose.
I just want to thank all of the people from The Daily Iowan for allowing me to do this blog. It has been a lot of fun. Thank you as well to all of the people that have been following along with my season. I hope all is well back in Iowa and hope to see my family and friends soon.
