Area authorities investigated Hillcrest Wednesday on reports that three football players might be involved in a sexual assault that allegedly occurred in the residence hall Oct. 14.
The three players are being questioned in connection with the reported crime, according to a UI news release. As of Wednesday, authorities had not made any arrests and did not release any details on the alleged victim or identity of the players.
UI police, Iowa City police, and the state Division of Criminal Investigation all responded to the scene Wednesday. There were at least three Iowa City police cars, a UI police van and car, and a criminal-investigations van stationed at Hillcrest.
A female Iowa City police officer was overheard on her cell phone saying authorities needed to check rooms "123" and "164" in Hillcrest, while other officers were casing a room in the N200s around 3:17 p.m. The officer was walking in a stairwell from the second floor of the residence hall to the first floor, which she then walked on to.

According to university records, Hawkeye defensive back freshmen Abe Satterfield and Cedric Everson are listed with those respective room numbers in the north wing of Hillcrest.
Officers and criminal investigators were also seen taking dark-tinted plastic bags and a plastic container from the room in the N200s. At least five authorities were around the room door or knocking on other doors in the hall.
Around 3:15 p.m., an Iowa City police officer was also seen taking an object wrapped in brown paper into a criminal-investigations van and an investigator was seen carrying an investigations kit.

Wow. What a poorly written article. Complete speculation. I've never read an "investigative" report where support included eavesdropping.

Remember what happened at Duke University? How can there be any evidence of this type of crime left after one month? Allegations at this time couldn't be much more than hearsay. (Continued…)

This young girl - so enamoured with athletes - engaged in a foursome with them.
Time goes on and, as young men are wont to do, they brag about it and, her reputation now sullied, she elects to claim that it was an assualt, thereby preserving her "honor. (Continued…)

Yeah, getting gang raped by three football players should be considered a badge of honor. Think of all the good those guys do for the state.

Maybe it wasn't reported earlier because the powerful sports machine used its clout to cover up the affair. Football is a big deal around here for some reason, I've noticed. (Continued…)
